Congratulations are in order at Global Shipping Services

Investing in professional development

Global Shipping Services continues to invest in the professional development of our existing and aspiring Foremen and Supervisors.

Our ongoing commitment includes the delivery of the Level 3 Team Leader and Supervisor qualification. This is a nationally recognised qualification with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).

This qualification covered a range of key areas including building high performing teams, project management, staff management, communication, problem solving and data analysis, over a period of 12 to 18 months.

Congratulations to the team

Terminal Supervisor Kieran England, Forwarder Dylan Parkin, Multi-Skilled Port Operative Foreman Daniel Taylor, Multi-Skilled Port Operative Scott Allen, Office Supervisor David Cox, and Forwarder Tom Atkin have all successfully completed the qualification. Global Shipping Services would like to congratulate each of you on your achievement and success.

In addition, Multi-Skilled Port Operative Foremen Daniel Taylor and Gareth Mitchell successfully completed the Appointed Person (Lifting Operations) course, delivered by Hird Ltd. This intensive five-day course covered a broad range of topics, including different types of cranes and associated documentation and terminology, crane regulations and Codes of Practice, safe systems of work (including method statements), British Standard 7121 – Safe Use of Cranes (Sections 1–4), recognising different work roles and responsibilities and planning a lift. Once again, the business extends its congratulations on this outstanding achievement.

We remain fully committed to developing the knowledge, skills, and experience of all members of its workforce. Health and Safety is at the heart of everything we do, and a competent workforce is key to maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
